# Extend an observation / add a comment

You can extend any observation with comments, capturing new impressions on a topic over time. Each comment is saved with its date and time.

## Add a comment

1. [Open the observation](/en/c/observations/view-observation) you want to add a comment to.
2. Enter your text in the **Write your note here ...** field at the bottom of the page.
3. Click **Save**.

The new comment appears below the existing entries with its own date.

## Edit a comment

1. Click the pencil icon next to the comment.
2. Edit the text in the input field.
3. Click **Save** (or **Cancel** to discard the change).

## Delete a comment

1. Click the trash icon next to the comment.
2. Confirm the deletion in the dialog.
